Google My Business

What is Google My Business?

Previously known as Google Places, Google unified all its services offered to businesses and created Google My Business. A useful tool for businesses to manage their online presence across Google’s different services, business owners can create their business listings for free.

Why create a Google My Business page?

A Google My Business page is extremely important for local SEO. Moreover, you want your users to have easy access to your information (such as your N.A.P.) when they are looking to find your business location and details.

  • Create fantastic visibility for your business
    • With a Google My Business page, having a higher SERP ranking will be further amplified with a maps feature of your business. Manage the information that users see when they search for your business, products or services you offer on Google. If your information is verified by Google My Business, your business will be twice as likely to be considered reputable by users. Provide easy access to information like your operating hours, official website, and street address
  • Talk to customers
    • Users can also write reviews on your Google My Business page. Know what your customers are saying about you and respond to the reviews. You can even share photos to give potential customers a better idea of what your business is about. Google has stated that “businesses that add photos to their listings receive 42% more requests for driving directions on Google Maps and 35% more clicks through to their websites than businesses that don’t.”
  • Gain business insights
    • Find out how customers found your business on Google and where they come from. See information like the number of people that called your business directly from the phone number displayed on local search results in Search and Maps.
    • On top of that, you can download the free Google My Business mobile app to access your business listing and modify your details from anywhere, anytime.
